Footnotes: This story was created because I wanted to do something with girls in it. I have been meaning for a long while to draw a comic that focussed on nothing more than the idle bramblings or a girl, a story that had no plot other than looking at a girl. Originally she was going to be naked, and it was going to be called naked girl and all she was going to do was walk around naked and stuff, but the nearer I got to starting it the more I realised that I cant realy draw naked girls that well and each image would have to be spot on or it would look crap, and also that I didn't feel it would be appropriate to draw a naked girl, call me a prude, but a naked irl is just too much information, we done really need to see her naked, so I opted for drawing her fully clothed. Ironically enough theres alot of gentlemans love involved. That could be construed as more startling and shocking than a naked girl, but in this case its actually a metaphore for the feeling that a cute girl creates in a gentleman. I use the term gentleman because i'm beating about the bush and not calling a spade a spade. er, yeah, anyway, so, the idea of this 'metaphore' is that when a guy or a gentleman goes near a girl they 'feel' good, or feel better. The output from a girl is calming, gentle, stress releaving and relaxing. As such, if a girl went into a room that had a stressed man in it, he owould feel better. However, that wouldn't make for a very interesting comic, so I have extracted the essential climax of that emotion, that feeling better to its natural climax, er, yeah, the final pinicle of appreciation of the female form, or possible, I dont know, what the hell, what i'm saying is that where ever brooklet goes the men are very happy. As such, I am showing them in the ultimate state of happyness. Take for example the ticket conductor. What a shit job looking at ugly bastards all day and getting beaten up. What a lucky break it is to sell a ticket to a girl thats cute, that looks pleased to see him and that makes him fell better. After selling her her ticket he probably felt much better. Of course he wouldn't actually jerk off on a train, its a metaphore. Another interesting feature of this story is that Brooklet doesn't know. After all, if she has always had thta effect on men then surely she is used to it, its normal. How could she ever understand the grimaces recieved by most ugly women by the men unfortunate to look at their ugly faces. I was going to have a scene where Brooklet was on a bus with her fat ugly friend and the conductor got her all gooey and Brooklet sayd to the fat ugly girl, dont you always get gooey on a bus, and the fat ugly girl says no, and Brooklet looks at her puzzled and says 'why' and they shrug and look in opposite directions or something like that. The point is of course that fat ugly girls do not mak people happy, they depress people. There fore cute girls are worth more as human beings because they make people fell good, and should be paid for that, by default.

Art wise, i'm very happy with this piece. It was my intention to get the face of the girl perfect in every panel, spending as much time on getting the face right as anything else. However, I am still lazy and rush stuff which is why the last three panels are a bit off. I learnt that from reading some of my old stuff. Where you just draw the girl with as much focus as the rest of the panel , there is usually some irregularity with the face detail or such that takes away all the impact that the image is supposed to have. Its supposed to be asthetically pleaseing, cute, and as such it should be, but all to often, my girls have not looked as cute as I intended them. As such, I have started to focus on the faces of the girls. I think that in the picture, the face of the cute girl gets 80% of the attention and everything else gets , er, 100-20 = 20%. I mean take panel one. Obviously I was fresh and ready to start drawing. The face is perfect, or in my eyes it is, but there are only a small number of lines in her face, but the face gets all the attention, whilst all the wood work and sheeting gets very little as background. So, to cut a long story short, I am basically focussing on the face and hair and the overall athestics of the images as a priority to support the principle appeal of the comic. Compare this to the pictures of the guys. I do them in 10% of the time. I just do them, and because they are less important, they carry less weight and I get away with it, but if I mess up on the girl then the whole panel is wasted. Just saying is all. My thoughts on it and all.
